Robbert Jan specialises in complex civil proceedings. He acts as counsel in all sorts of commercial disputes and class actions. Robbert Jan also has extensive expertise in matters on director’s liability, fraudulent conveyance and security rights. As an attorney, he has represented multinationals in various industries, (international) financial institutions, big four audit firms, claims organisations, bankruptcy trustees and executive directors.
Robbert Jan started his career in the legal profession in the commercial litigation and insolvency practice of Stibbe. Before that he was a researcher and lecturer at the Radboud Business Law Institute (OO&R) where he obtained a Ph.D degree with a thesis on fraudulent conveyance (“De faillissementspauliana”, published as volume 75 in Serie Onderneming en Recht, Kluwer 2012). Robbert Jan still publishes regularly on various private law and insolvency law topics, and is a member of the Advisory Committee for Insolvency Law of the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA). He is a much sought-after speaker and lecturer.
Robbert Jan is a deputy judge in the Court of Appeal of Arnhem-Leeuwarden.
